Who We Are

Community based, grassroots, cross-sectoral committees working together to improve community responses for women and children experiencing violence.

VAWCCs are the result of local service providers coming together to work collaboratively.

VAWCCs are funded through the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services*. Working with our MCCSS funding partners, VAWCCs build on existing best practices while improving our capacity to respond to community needs.

*In 2018, there were 48 local VAWCCs funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS).
